OutcomesFEEDBACK FROM PREVIOUS CLIENTS How did you find the comfort and maintenance of the house? Very Good "I felt very welcomed and not threatened but trusted" "I felt I could talk about anything" "This is the safest I have ever felt in my life" Audit Outcomes We based our retention figures on a 12 week period, but as you are aware, we do extend clients time with us for up to 6 months if required 46% completed. This has increased by 2% on last years figures. Once again the male and female ratio reflects the national NTA figures, yet at times, we have had a majority of females in the house.
Our self discharge figures are higher than we wish and identify the main reason being that of self sabotage by the clients to their treatment. We hope that this will improve in time, yet recognise that this is part of the normal occurrence for many clients.
The inspection this year raised two areas where we had to update some literature the overall rating is good one that we are proud of. The after-care has been successful expanding the moving on houses. We have been privileged to experience, alongside the clients, their initial steps back into the community and the trials and tribulations that undoubtedly will and have happened. Once again as a team we have been able to identify our strengths and weaknesses and have developed the team accordingly with positive results. We have had two new members of staff join the team and lots of students to our training programme, which brings with it a variety of ideas and challenges.
Thank you to all providers who replied to the feedback questionnaire. From this information we believe that we have developed to provide the service that is required. The only area which has been difficult was to rectify is the waiting times for clients to be admitted. We have done this by having an emergency bed list where individuals can be added so as soon as a vacancy arises the bed can be offered to the client.
On the client feedback, there are three areas that we need to improve. The house meetings again have been raised we now have a member of staff attending the meetings to monitor outcomes this seems to have helped.
We have 9 volunteers in the community ranging from shop work, youth work, animal welfare, 6 clients in college and 4 in paid work.
As for family involvement, we do encourage families to visit weekly and also offer family therapy, but are aware that although clients may wish this to happen, the family members are not always willing. Hopefully this is something that will change with time.
Overall, it has been an exciting year with every experience working towards improvements within our service that we provide to you and the clients.
